Freedom Series, Part 1: The Search for Creative Satisfaction.

Just finished editing a video. It's my first attempt so I'm learning as I go along and happy to let the mistakes stand! Really I've just been getting to grips with the technicalities of remembering to charge batteries and swap SD cards. Progress feels good and I'm off to celebrate at a wedding in the woods. What could be nicer for late summer weekend.

Elephants Stampede Brighton!

Elephants Stampede Brighton!

There are a bunch of elephants standing around in Pavilion Gardens.  The space in between them is full of people taking pictures and commenting on the sculptures.  The touring exhibit is raising awareness and funds for http://www.elephantfamily.org.  I like them.  I wish there were real elephants wandering around the garden.  Rather than them pigeons.

The Great Eastern Sun.

I was staying at a friends house the other day.  His kitchen looks out over the railway track and beyond that across a valley.  I woke up before six and there was this golden glow I could see through the half open door to  my room.  I got up and followed it, down the stairs to the kitchen.  The sun had risen over the silhouetted houses on the other side of the valley and a golden yellow vibrancy tinged with a last shimmer of red illuminated a new day.

Stop hiding behind closed doors and let the sun in!

A friend of mine, a writer, has been working for years on her magnum opus.  With so much time and effort invested in it already its obvious that it's become very precious to her.  She's convinced she only has one chance to get it right and so she goes over and over it, refining, improving.  Will it ever get to see the light?  Will any one ever read it?
